Michael Umscheid, CPA
President and CEO
Mike started ARCSys in 2009 with the sole purpose of building a solution for CECL. He has been providing accounting, consulting and auditing services to public and non-public companies for over 30 years. Considered the “CECL Guru,” Mike was selected by the AICPA to create and deliver their 8-hour CPE course on CECL and has also spoken at numerous national conferences as the CECL subject expert. Mike is a past member of the Auditing Standards Board and a published author on Accounting and Auditing for Financial Institutions. Mike graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
Victor Dean Rodil
Dean is one of the founding partners of ARCSys where he has held several leadership positions within the organization. He has over 20 years as an information technology executive in the financial services and insurance industries. Prior to founding ARCSys, Dean was the Director of Information Systems and Technology at Virginia Delta Dental of Virginia. He has earned the designation of Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and a Certified Information Systems Audit (CISA). Dean is a graduate of Old Dominion University (BA) and Northeastern University (MBA).
F. Jo Goodson
Jo has more than 30 of experience in a variety of high-profile IT security positions, including Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs. She has also managed projects under the CMS (Medicare) IACS program, expected to be the world's largest deployment of identity management systems. Jo has worked extensively on the ARCSys Investment CECL solution. She received her Bachelor’s degree in computer science from North Carolina State University, and her Masters in computer science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute of Hartford.
Howard has over 40 years of progressive financial services industry expertise that includes senior executive positions in the savings and loan, regulatory, investment banking, commercial, and community banking disciplines. He has considerable experience in financial institution start-ups, value creation, turn-around, work-outs, mergers, acquisitions, operations and equity development. Howard holds a BBA in Business Administration and a MA in Real Estate Finance from the Terry College of Business, University of Georgia. He is a former member of the Federal Reserve Bank 5th District Operations Advisory Committee; a founding member of the National Association of Financial Professionals; and a founding member of the National Association of Review Appraisers and Mortgage Underwriters.
Vice President of Sales
Tom has over 25 years in the financial services industry, most recently as Director of Professional Development at the Financial Managers Society association. He also served in the same capacity at the Counselors of Real Estate association and Financial Managers Society. Tom started his career working in the commercial lending and credit area of community banks in the Chicagoland area. He is a graduate of Elmhurst College in Illinois.
Dr. Scott J. Seipel
Associate Professor, Middle Tennessee State University, Statistics and Computer Information Systems. Dr. Seipel serves as a consultant to ARCSys advising the company on statistical modeling and forecasting. Dr. Seipel, in addition to his academic achievements, is a leading expert in the application of computer information systems to statistics, predictive, and prescriptive analytics. He serves as an advisor to Fortune 500 companies, as well as various government agencies.
Tom is a seasoned financial services executive, who has spent over 35 years building successful businesses in wholesale commercial banking, capital markets, investment banking, and credit cards. He previously served as CEO of Silverton Bank where he conceptualized and fostered development of multiple successful software solutions for the bank. Tom has been instrumental in developing the CECL for Investment product. Tom is a graduate of Livingston University.
Clark has over 15 years’ experience in software development, and data warehousing applications. He has held information technology positions with organizations such as AT & T and Delta Dental. Clark is a graduate of California State Polytechnic University-Pomona.
Steve has an extensive background in information technology and experience in business intelligence, reporting, and data base design. He has worked in a software development capacity with TEKsystems and Delta Dental. He graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Finance and Economics.
Lead Developer and Software Architect
Brett has been with ARCSys since 2010, and currently is the lead developer of ARCSys Technologies. Prior to his time with ARCSys, Brett served as a software engineer for various shipboard navigations systems. He has spoke at various conferences on the use of Java and other software applications. Brett is a graduate of Virginia Tech’s computer engineering program.
ARCSys Consulting Associates
Matt has over 18 years of experience of providing effective finance and accounting solutions to F/S clients. He has led Accounting Policy group on an interim basis to assist with the adoption of accounting guidance and regulation, including various International Financial standards. Matt worked as an Audit Manager at Deloitte & Touche, served as Director of Internal Control at MassMutual Financial Group, and Director of Financial Reporting and Accounting Policy at Sun Life Financial.
Andres has over 15 years of experience providing accounting, management advisory, and transaction services to public and private companies of all sizes across Banking. He has led numerous engagement teams through complex accounting and operational issues including SEC reporting, financial planning and analysis, regulatory reporting, and process improvement and infrastructure build. He has advised numerous clients on multiple accounting standard implementations in Banking, Insurance, Specialty Finance, and Asset Management industries.
Jillian has over 7 years of experience providing technical accounting assistance, operationalization of accounting standards, and financial close support for US GAAP, and IFRS. She has recently performed IFRS 9 (Financial Instruments) and IFRS 17 (Insurance Contracts) target operating model and accounting implementations. She has also implemented and led PMO structure for the world’s second largest bank CCAR program. Jillian previously, served as a Manager and SME in Deloitte Advisory’s Accounting and Reporting Transformation group focusing on IFRS 9 and CECL and an Audit Experienced Associate in PwC’s F/S practice.
Consulting Regulatory Associate
Jim Nowe has over thirty-six years’ experience in the commercial banking and regulatory arenas. Jim was a National Bank Examiner with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). He has served as Examiner-in- Charge and Portfolio Manager over community banks, to include problem banks, across the country. Jim has led many targeted examinations focused on commercial credit, to include extensive experience in in the Shared National Credit assessing risk in the largest financial institutions. He is also a trained instructor and has provided class room-based instruction to bank examiners as well as developed course content and course materials for bank examiner training.
